April Cullom, Director

April first discovered Spain when she was a study abroad student at the Complutense de Madrid in 1986, while finishing her studies with Stetson University where she obtained her B.A. in Spanish and a double major in General Business.

In 1989, as she says “the Spanish bug bit me”, and decided to return to Madrid for 5 years where she worked for E.F. Educational Tours as a Tour Director. She was in charge of groups as large as 45 people and lead tours all the way from Tangiers to Athens.

Eager to continue learning, April decided to go back to the States to obtain a dual Masters degree in International Business (MBA/MS) and pursue a career in International Marketing in New York City. But, after September 11th she decided to return to “her roots”, Spain, and combine her marketing experience with her passion and commitment to promote its culture and products. When she is not in New York presenting the local riches of Spanish products to the US market, she and her local experts in Spain are introducing travelers to the sources of these gems.

She is fluent in Spanish and also speaks French, Portuguese and Italian.

WSET Intermediate & Advanced certifications

In 2005, April was awarded a certificate by The Travel Institute as a Destination Spain Specialist, and accredited by TURESPANA.
