An international marketer with over 25 years’ experience, April is an expert in the creation, development, and management of brands, corporate image and identity. April has overseen major projects, like T-Mobile’s European and US launch, worked with multinationals like Brazil’s Rede Globo, France’s Aventis, and Mexico’s Telmex, and brings the same level of commitment to every client, whatever their size and ambitions. April’s experience of Spain’s food and wine goes from field and vine to consumer: working with professionals like José Peñin, José Andrés, and Dani García, and serving as US Brand Ambassador and Trade Liaison for D.O. Ribera del Duero. April holds WSET advanced qualifications with honors, is certified as a Spanish Wine Expert by the Wine Academy of Spain and a Spain Specialist by the Spanish Tourism Board. A lover of food and grape, and speaks five languages, April has lived part-time in Spain since 1986, worked in Europe, Latin America, and the USA, and feels at home wherever there’s a good meal, good wine, and good company.
Media Communications and Content Management
A journalist and corporate communications professional by trade, Susannah has combined her communications skills with her interest in wine for almost two decades. As owner of boutique PR firm, Vigneto Communications, Susannah has worked with some of the biggest consortiums, institutions, importers, producers, and retailers and is a recognized authority on wines. She has worked on all aspects of the communications change with producers and institutions to bring wine and food products to the U.S. market. Prior to her wine career, Susannah was the Director of the Press Office at a major Italian bank, a senior manager at a large communications strategy firm and a correspondent with Dow Jones Newswires.
Susannah is among a handful of non-Italians in the Associazione Italiana de Sommeliers (AIS). She represented the Prosecco DOC consortium on the Vinitaly US Tour, has earned the Diploma in Wines & Spirits from the WSET, holds the CSW and CSS credentials from the Society of Wine Educators and a certification from the Spanish Wine Academy. She teaches wine classes, and writes for media like The Gourmet Retailer, Food, Food & Beverage Business, Snooth.com, Organic Wine Journal, and GDO Week. She also pens a wine blog on wines from around the world called Avvinare. Fluent in English, Italian, French, Susannah is studying advanced Spanish at the Instituto Cervantes and is happily working her way through Spain’s cuisine.
